Scott Doyle grew up in a small town of 500 people on the east coast of Newfoundland, Bay de Verde. Influenced by contemporary poets such as Leonard Cohen and Jim Morrison, he began writing poetry. His interest soon turned to songwriting and he began playing guitar at fourteen.
