A. Festival Setup & Tear-down
Vendor Set-up & Tear-down
You will help vendors locate their space as allocated and direct them accordingly.
Festival Site
Setup AND Tear-down
You will be setting up and tearing down the Festival. This job entails a lot of moving stuff like: tables, chairs, hoses, etc.
Parking Lot & Stage Set-up
Setup and Tear-down You will be helping layout the parking lot for various events plus assist in the set-up of the entertainment stages.
Street Signs & Banners Setup AND Tear-down
You will be helping put up and take down information signs, banners etc. within the Festival and St.Thomas area.
B. Festival Operations
Children's Activities
Assist with children's activities including: Games, crafts, face painting etc.
Souvenir Sales
Sell T-shirts and other Festival items, restock displays, and answer questions. Retail experience is a plus.
Information Booth
You will provide answers to visitor questions regarding festival activities and other items of interest.
Security
Volunteers will be the eyes and ears of the festival. You will notify the proper authorities of any problems and offer customer service to festival patrons. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older
Grounds Crew
You'll roam the Festival grounds, pick up trash on the ground, and remove full bags from trash cans, replacing them with fresh plastic liners.
Stage Crew
You will assist with the set-up and tear down of the Entertainment stages, plus assist throughout the Festival as required.
Raffle Ticket Sales
You will sell raffle tickets to the general public, and answer questions regarding the prizes to be won. Outgoing personality a must !
Crown & Anchor Gaming
You will operate the Crown and Anchor booth. Duties include spinning the wheel, collecting the fee, as well as paying out the winnings. You must be 18 years of age or older!
Donation Collection
This is an active outdoor job, on your feet, accepting donations prior to our main entertainment at our main stage.
Loonie Bingo
You will be required to sell bingo cards to players as they request them, collect the money and submit to the game coordinator after each game. You will also be required to hand out the winnings to the player you sold the lucky game card to.
Volunteer Registration
You'll help a committee member check in Festival volunteers, and hand out beverage coupons, T-shirts, and information.
Festival Committee
You are interested in becoming actively involved in the planning process for the next year’s Festival. You may have an idea or event you would like to see at the festival or would like to help out an existing event. This is the best way to get involved throughout the year.
Photography
Volunteers will photograph events and people enjoying our festival. They will take pictures of sponsorship signage,vendors, and entertainment. Volunteers should have a 5 mega pixel or higher digital camera. Iron Horse will not be responsible for the cost of purchasing and developing film.
Buskers
Students can receive volunteer hours by becoming Street Buskers.Musicians singers, actors, jugglers, are welcome to stand out in a crowd and display their talent. Buskers must perform acoustically and be able to move from place to place.
Sound Technician
Volunteers must have a working knowledge of the operation of sound equipment. They must be able to work with bands,CD singers vocal groups.
